About us

Hi, I’m Seth (aka Safety Culture Pro), and I love safety.

Ha ha, I know it’s weird but I always have. I feel safe, when others feel safe.

I’m the founder and President of videotoolboxtalks.com, a company developed to solve our construction client’s frustrations with outdated, paper toolbox talks and random internet videos. They said:

“We need something better”

I couldn’t agree more.

It was the fall of 2012, in Grand Rapids Michigan, where I was in my second year as the Director of Safety for a large commercial construction company.

“Can you record a 3-minute safety video each week and send it to our team?”

As I pondered over that question posed to me by the President of a large commercial construction company, it became clear to me that the time for change was here.

From that day on, I was convinced that the old, boring, irrelevant paper toolbox talks were on their way out.  I also knew that sending random internet videos was not the professional image we wanted to convey for safety.  It screamed cheap and lazy.  Sorry, but it did.

So...

I began recording 3-minute weekly safety videos and have not stopped.  To be honest, my first ones were embarrassing.  Really embarrassing!  But I listened to the feedback and kept producing.

I follow that same model today.  Listen to the needs of the field; and produce.

This is what has led my team to develop videotoolboxtalks.com.

An automatic, fun, relevant, interactive, weekly 3-minute toolbox talks system for construction companies that records and reports progress.

Over the years, we have developed a library with over one hundred videos. To keep it current, we add new videos monthly.

    Seth Wehner, SMS, CHST

    FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT

I’m the founder and President of videotoolboxtalks.com, a company that provides modern, relevant, weekly oh & s toolbox talks videos for construction companies. I love construction and I love safety. lol. I guess I found my spot!

I remember when I first met my wife Sarah, I asked her if she had a carbon monoxide detector in her home. She laughed as she thought I was joking. I bought her one!

I enjoy learning about culture by traveling the world with my wife, Sarah. There are so many different types of safety cultures! I like good food, good friends, reading, and helping others. Most people are surprised to find out that I sometimes struggle with anxiety; which explains how I got into the field of safety! But that is another story….

    Sarah Tyler-Wehner

    FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR

Hi I am Sarah, and I love safety too! I guess I had to when I married Seth. I knew nothing about safety when I first met Seth, and honestly… I thought it was kind of funny that he loved it. He asked me if I had a carbon monoxide detector. Lol.

I am also the founder and Director of videotoolboxtalks.com. Which means I coordinate video recording, editing, distribution and all the other behind the scenes things.

I love traveling the world with Seth and he likes good food because I love good food! And good cappuccino. Most people are surprised to find out that I enjoy hard physical work. I can work with my hands and get dirty in the process. But, I always wear my gloves and safety glasses!

    VIDEO EDITOR

Hi, I ‘m Katie and well… I love safety too!

I guess I had to in order to edit these great videos. I also love coffee. Like, I really love coffee. I also love art and design, which is how I ended up as a freelance video editor. Feel free to reach out to me at katelynnelyse@yahoo.com.

Do I have a carbon monoxide detector in my home? I may have to double check that…

You do a great job on the videos. You hit the points and make it interesting. Thank you!

After a few months of sending them out weekly to our crews we were having guys talking about them and if they hadn’t seen one by the latter part of the week, they would ask “when is our video coming”. The videos are a much more effective way to do safety tool box talks and Seth’s team does a great job of putting them together
